Side projects? Dreams?

It seems like most of you are doing things you enjoy, but aren't what you want to to! I should change the to " Graphic dreaming in it's entirety."

Why don't you guys start going after your dream proffesions?
What types of things do you want to do in the future, that you aren't already doing???

And NOTHING ( NOTHING ) is to extravegant. " I WANT TO RUB GASOLINE ON FIRE HYDRANTS!" Doesn't matter...

What about those guys who started a whole buisness of a photoshop action they made that turns home photos into iPod adds?

I may go through periods where I'm creatively drained or not necessarily working on a dream project. But I have to say between this job, my comic book and my family, this really is my dream.

Though I still enjoy the dreams where I'm gliding along about five feet off the ground...%)

My dream is to being able to make money with 'my own work'. This 'own work' include graphic design. illustrations and paintings. Three days a week i work as an art and arthistory teacher at a highschool here in the Netherlands. I enjoy the combination of working with people and working at home in my studio. The only thing i notice now is, since i just started teaching, prepairing lessons consumes a lot of time. I am not doing a lot of painting and drawing these days which is a shame because it always takes some time to get in that flow again.

I'm with you. There never seems to be enough energy or time left over after the dayjob for other art things. A possible solution for you, since you are teaching art why don't you make some of your art assignments things that you want to work on anyway? Show the kids how it's done. And at least with that you'll already be in the "flow" when it comes to your personal time.
